Yummy Gluten Free Biscuits

I found this recipe for gluten free biscuits that I veganized that were fan-freakin-tastic. I made them for vegan biscuits and gravy and jelly biscuits, they were great. All I did different was followed the instructions but for butter and milk I use vegan butter and unsweetened almond milk. For dinner I decided to make Cheddar Bay Biscuits you know the ones, the ones you get at Red Lobster. Yum double OO!

Those biscuits were so good especially the jelly biscuits, magnifique. 

For the cheddar bay I used nutritional yeast along with garlic powder and brushed their tops with butter. They were perfect! I could imagine how good they would be if you used Follow Your Heart cheddar shreds. They’d be so good like slap your husband good. Here is what I did different and added my own twist.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Cheddar Bay Biscuits


  • 2 cups gluten free flour I love this brand
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Follow You Heart cheddar shreds
  • 4 Tbsp melted Earth Balance butter
  • 1/2 cup vegan sour cream
  • 1/4 cup almond unsweetened original milk maybe more depending on moistness


  1. Preheat your oven to 425.
  2. Meanwhile in a mixing bowl add flour, salt and garlic powder.
  3. Now add the butter and sour cream until mixed well.
  4. Then mix in milk you may need to add more or less milk until it's all wet and like a dough consistency.
  5. Here you can either roll it out on a floured surface and cut out biscuits, hand form biscuit shapes or do drop biscuits.
  6. When your ready to bake brush tops with melted vegan butter, sprinkle on a little garlic powder and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Take them out and prepare for your mouth to thank you!

I don’t know about you but bread is my weakness I love it, I put myself in a bread comma. Even though you are gluten free you can still do this and enjoy ever minute of it.

This weekend I’m going to try to add Follow Your Heart cheddar shreds. I will update this post and let you know how great it was. Also the flour I used was perfect for the consistency of the biscuits I haven’t tried another yet. If you do I’d love to hear about it or any other changes to make these even more fabulous.
